

Whether they are regulars or new arrivals, all the Dakar’s sponsors foster the general spirit of the rally, with, at its heart, the challenge facing the competitors.
The Dakar’s bivouac is a temporary travelling town, revolving around the drivers and their teams. More than anywhere else, the sponsors are actively present in the bivouac and join in the adventure. Total is celebrating its 20th year on the Dakar - using its expertise to provide competitors with fuel in the best conditions.
Come the evening, most competitors turn to the Dakar Service Centre, where sponsors offer much-needed services in their field of expertise. Elf, which organises the newcomers’ trophy on the rally, also makes its products available. The Loctite and BFGoodrich areas have also become essentials. And this year, at certain stages during the rally, Kärcher will establish a «cleaning centre», where drivers can reveal their vehicles’ true colours again, while Fric Rot will provide advice on any questions relating to shock absorbers.
During the Dakar, eating, drinking and moving around become challenges in themselves, which supporters and official suppliers do their best to overcome. Red Bull, Agua Palau, Fernet Branca, and Cristal which supply drinks, Nestlé through D’Onofrio (the official Dakar ice-cream!) and Sodexo which provides catering, are essential sponsors for maintaining day-to-day operations. Alongside them, Mutual provides security services, while LAN and Novotel provide transport and accommodation. The official sound of the Dakar will be broadcast using Sony X-Plod technology. During a race, sometimes it all comes down to time: this year it will be managed by Edox, the new official race timekeeper.

France Télévisions, the historic partner of the Dakar, will set off for Latin America for the fourth year in a row, from 1st to 15th January 2012.
France Télévisions’ different channels and websites will join the race on 1st January to present several programmes dedicated to the 2012 Dakar, every day and throughout the whole rally, thus providing complete coverage of the event.

Iveco will be headlining in the 2012 Dakar
The prestigious brand Iveco will be present at the Dakar 2012, the world's largest rally, which will start its journey on January 1 from the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina, and will end in Lima, Peru, on January 15.
