Formalities
Passport valid to six months after your return from your country required.
For tourist stays, French citizens do not need any visa. For other nationalities, please consult your embassy.
When arriving in Argentina and Chile, you will be given a tourist card (" Tarjeta de turismo ") in duplicate (2 copies). It allows you a maximum stay in the country of 30 days. Filled in, a copy must be given to the immigration service . You must keep the other copy with your passport until you leave the country. Do not lose this card !
An airport tax - not included in the air ticket - is in force in Argentina. When leaving Buenos Aires to Europe, you will have to pay directly this tax at the airport. The tax is currently of 18USD. You can pay it in cash (pesos, dollars, euros) or by credit card.

Required vaccines:
No vaccination is required for international travellers, whatever the origin.
Advisable vaccines
It is advisable to be immune against:
- Diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis,
- Hepatitis A et B,
- Typhoid.
Yellow fever is actually advisable for travellers visiting Iguaçu Falls.

What is the whether like in January in Argentina and Chile ?
January is part of the summer in Argentina and in Chile. The average temperature in Buenos Aires is 24°C with low precipitation. In general, at this period in Argentina, the temperatures are mild and the days are long.
In January,2008, the temperature in Buenos Aires raised to 42°C.
