Registration

Also Worth Knowing

The 2009 route

Registration is the moment when the challenge can really start. If the decision has been thought over and that the main lines of the projects are known, now is the time to make sure that you respect the preparation advice provided by the Dakar competitors department. The major requirement obviously concerns time delays. A quick reminder: Registrations for the 2009 will open the 15th of May until the 30th of June.

Registration Procedure: we often forget but participating in the Dakar involves a sporting and administrative preparation that can sometimes appear quite complex. To assist you in this procedure without mishap and to better understand the follow up of your entry, this little resume will help you in your organisation and will answer questions to which you often seek a reply:

  • If I cancel my participation, can I recuperate the payments I have already made?
  • Can several sponsors pay my registration fees?
  • I need an invoice, how do I go about obtaining one?
  • What is the deposit for?

In order for the application to be considered, you must pay the registration fee which consists of two elements:

  • 1. A vehicle fee (one per vehicle)
  • 2. An individual fee (one per person)

Example: If you are a motorbike racer, you must pay one motorbike fee and one individual fee.

e.g.: If you are an assistance Car with a driver, a co-pilot and a mechanic, you must pay a Car vehicle package and three individual packages (one for each crew members)
