19-04-2007 - DAKAR ENDURO CHALLENGE FFM
16 CONTENDERS, 1 PLACE.The first edition of the Dakar Enduro Challenge FFM allowed its winner, Fabien Planet, to take part in the 29th Dakar and confirmed the potential of the best French enduro riders in the World’s greatest rally-raid. 12th at the finish, Planet made the best of the event to become one of the future contenders for the leading positions. For the 2008 edition, the same formula has been chosen to reward a promising biker. Added to the first leg of the French championship, a parallel competition has begun between the members of enduro’s national elite. Among the sixteen registered for the Dakar enduro challenge FFM, one will finish the season with the guarantee of being able to start the 2008 Dakar for free.
On the occasion of the opening weekend of the championship, on the 14th and 15th of April in Massiac, the first standing of the event was established. Multiple French champion and second in the World championships, Marc Germain has conquered the leadership of the challenge after winning both races of the weekend. The official Yamaha rider already has a precious 14 point advantage over Sébastien Guillaume, second of the 2006 Dakar Enduro Challenge FFM.
