Mame Less Diallo: "I wanted to add my stone to the edifice"
"This year, I feel that I’ve reached my maximum both physically and financially", says Mame Less Diallo. Not an easy task to find the ressources to leave, year after year when you have to fight to find sponsors and you reach at the age of 37 your eleventh Dakar on a bike in a row... This year Senegalese Mame Less Diallo, holder of the appearance record for an African biker had seriously considered starting in a car. "But I didn’t find the opportunity. I already have to struggle to make it on a bike... For a car, it’s another budget, you have to find a big sponsor".
Thankfully friends and faithful partners offered a helping hand like Toni Togo who will take care of his assistance or the Permanet company that helps him financially. The mosquito net manufacturer asked Mame Less Diallo to help out in a campaign to fight against paludism: "We gave out over 1500 mosquito nets. Paludism is a disease that kills every second, he explains. I’ve done the Dakar for ten years and have travelled through many lost villages. I wanted to do something, to add my stone to the edifice". This citizen born in Dakar discovered during the race situations that were unknown to him in the city. For his ten years of Dakar, he has decided to carry the following slogan: "the race against Paludism..."
