The day's route
Pride of place for the time-trials!
With 210 km of time-trial and only 107 km of link stage on the menu for the fifth stage, tomorrow will see the longest timed section of this first Central Europe Rally. The competitors will start their day with the longest special of the event measuring 156 km in length, still on the former military base in the Warsaw Park near Veszprem, before a short link and then a second smaller 54-km special. As for the terrain, the route will be very quick but will include some off-road and other much more technical sections, with in particular a wooded section where rain may have made the area very muddy. The competitors will have to be careful, because they may meet up with bears curious about all the hustle and bustle. Once again, the riders and drivers will have to show that they can adapt to all types of terrain if they want to make the difference at the finishing line.
It should be noted that the trucks will not take part in the same second special as the other competitors, but a 54-km long loop that will follow the route of the day’s first special.
