The day's route
And now for the real thing
After climbing onto the traditional starting podium in the Heroes’ Square, the 238 competitors in this first Central Europe Rally will be tucking into a prime cut with for starters, a 531-km stage, the second longest of the whole race!
After an initial link of 58 km, the competitors will have to tackle a 63-km special in the Hungarian plains, on a sandy and undulating track and woops type terrain which is characterised by its density, with many changes in direction. The competitors, who will all be navigating by sight, will probably have to pass each other by to check in at the waypoints, located in a radius of 90 m around the waypoint and not 300 m like on the Dakar, meaning there is more than plenty to deal with in terms of driving and navigation.
Once they have completed the special, the competitors will then continue along the 410-km link to Baia Mare in Romania for their first night in the mythic Carpathian Mountains.
