Arnaud Durier: ‘’No more black cat’’
Since the 2006 edition, Arnaud Durier is one of the few to have known the Dakar on the competitor’s side as a biker and among the race organisation as a doctor. In 2005, this rider, fascinated by the ‘’enduro du Touquet’’, took part in the rally with the only ambition to give it a go. Extremely disappointed, he was forced to quit after a very rare technical problem (piston explosion). After this major blow, the competitor had decided to take a break. But Arnaud Durier is also a doctor in the city of Lens. For quite a few years now, he did his job while cultivating his travelling spirit by joining the AMS (Alliance médicale scientifique) on different races around the World: Orient rally, Morocco or Dubaï. Logically in 2006, he was back on the Dakar to treat the wounds of the competitors as part of the medical bivouac. A way to discover what goes on in the organisation while being helpful to the community of bikers. For the 2007 edition, he’s back as a biker with a decent hope to make it to the finish; indeed his black cat is dead and has been buried for a long time…
