Eric Aubijoux: “I let the bike cool down”

It is not because he works in a motorbike scrap-yard that Eric Abijoux doesn’t take good care of his Yamaha. Passionate for motocross, the Isère native (Royans) has competed in over twenty editions of the ‘Enduro du Touquet’ where he often finished among the ten best riders. As far as he looks back in his memories, he’s always wanted to compete in the Dakar. In 2000, for his first start, he finished the rally in an excellent 44th spot overall. The following year, his progression was flabbergasting as he finished 16th, his best ever overall position until now. In 2002, a broken shoulder in Morocco forced him to pull out of the race. He however did finish the following two editions (20th in 2003; 28th in 2004), before deciding to take a one year break. Thanks to his excellent results, all managed without assistance, Eric Aubijoux has decided to come back for the long journey that leads to Senegal.
